Funes: "Alavés are competing very well and have many strengths"

Málaga manager Funes praised Alavés ahead of Friday's LaLiga clash, calling them a strong side competing well despite five games without a win.

Málaga manager Juanfran Funes held his pre-match press conference ahead of Friday's LaLiga visit to Alavés in round 10. Funes acknowledged Alavés as a formidable opponent, noting they compete well and their seventh-place league position is no accident. He highlighted their aggression in the box from crosses and warned they remain dangerous despite a five-game winless run. Funes also reflected on Málaga's own struggles, noting the team is adapting to top-flight football after nine games without a win—the only La Liga side yet to record a victory this season.
