Gattuso: "We're not involved up there, but this squad has great mentality"

Gattuso praised Lazio's mentality after beating Parma to move top of Serie A, saying the team has completed a step forward.

Lazio manager Rino Gattuso expressed satisfaction after his side's victory over Parma, which moved them to the top of Serie A. Gattuso highlighted the team's improved mentality, particularly in the second half after a sluggish opening period. "This squad has mentality in how it plays, how it works, how it interprets the match," he said. "We've completed the step I saw against Juventus."

Gattuso stressed the importance of maintaining focus on individual matches rather than the league table. "The head of the table doesn't interest us, we're not involved up there, but we're writing a small page in this club's history," he explained. He also noted that playing once a week gives Lazio an advantage, allowing proper training intensity and player recovery compared to rivals with midweek fixtures.

The manager also addressed the reintegration of left-back Luca Pellegrini into the squad after initially being excluded, praising his professionalism and attitude in training.
