Atlético have reasons to dream

Atlético Madrid won 1–0 at home against Deportivo with a second-half goal from Julián Álvarez, extending their winning streak to six consecutive league victories.

Atlético Madrid secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Deportivo at the Metropolitano, with Julián Álvarez scoring early in the second half. The hosts struggled to control the match and were fortunate to hold on, as Deportivo had a golden chance to equalize in stoppage time.

The win extends Atlético's run to six consecutive league victories, putting them on one of their best starts under Diego Simeone. With 25 points from ten games, they are matching their point totals from the 2012–13 and 2023–24 seasons—both campaigns that ended with 76 points but saw the team fade as the season progressed. However, Simeone's side has shown marked improvement in defence, with goalkeeper Oblak conceding just eight goals, the second-fewest in La Liga. Offensively, ten different players have scored this season, with Baena leading the way.
