Papers: Dyche emerges as frontrunner for Palace job if Sage departs

Sean Dyche emerges as frontrunner for Crystal Palace job if Pierre Sage departs following Sunday's 2-0 home loss to Newcastle.

Crystal Palace are considering potential replacements for manager Pierre Sage after a damaging 2-0 home defeat against Newcastle United on Sunday. Sean Dyche has emerged as a frontrunner for the role should the club decide to part ways with Sage.

Meanwhile, Manchester United's hierarchy are in crisis talks over the future of manager Michael Carrick following another poor result — a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth. Dressing room insiders expect Carrick to be sacked, though the club has yet to formally tell him of any decision after he spoke with chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox post-match.
