Manchester City and Liverpool learn Carabao Cup quarter-final opponents

Manchester City face Bradford City and Liverpool draw Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, with ties to be played the week of 14 December.

The Carabao Cup quarter-final draw took place on Friday, setting up all-Premier League clashes for the competition's elite. Manchester City, defending champions under Enzo Maresca, will face Bradford City of the third tier, while Liverpool under Andoni Iraola drew Bournemouth. The quarter-finals will be played the week beginning 14 December.

City and Liverpool are the only members of the traditional "Big Six" to reach this stage. Chelsea were eliminated on Wednesday, losing 6-5 on penalties to Liverpool after a 1-1 draw at Anfield, while Manchester United fell to Brighton 3-2 in the third round and Tottenham lost 3-1 to Liverpool in the same stage. Fleetwood Town, a fourth-tier side, will face the winner of Thursday's Everton-Newcastle tie after pulling off a major upset by knocking out Arsenal 5-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
