Fleetwood get Premier League tie as Liverpool and Man City also discover Carabao Cup opponents

Bradford City will face Manchester City at the Etihad in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals after beating Peterborough 2-0; Fleetwood Town await the Everton-Newcastle winner.

The Carabao Cup quarter-final draw has been confirmed, with eight teams now knowing their opponents for matches scheduled for December 15 and 16.

Bradford City, who reached the competition final in 2013, have been handed a giant-killing opportunity against defending champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. The League One side booked their place with a 2-0 victory over Peterborough on Tuesday night. City progressed by beating Brighton on penalties after a 2-2 draw, with Lewis Dunk missing from 12 yards.

Fleetwood Town, a League Two side, will face either Everton or Newcastle after their shock penalty shootout victory over Premier League champions Arsenal despite an 84-place gap between them in the football pyramid. Fleetwood's reward sees them await the winner of Thursday night's Everton-Newcastle clash.

Liverpool will play Bournemouth after the Cherries swept aside Aston Villa 3-0. Liverpool advanced by beating Chelsea 6-5 on penalties following a 1-1 draw, with Wesley Fofana missing the decisive spot-kick at Anfield.

The semi-final first legs are scheduled for the week commencing January 11, with return legs three weeks later from February 1. The final will be held on Sunday, March 21.
