Harry Kane is 'still processing' his Ballon d'Or win, so he went back to the only thing he knows

Kane returned to Bayern action on Wednesday after winning the Ballon d'Or on Monday, becoming the first English player to claim the award in 25 years.

Harry Kane made his first appearance since winning the Ballon d'Or on Monday, appearing on the sidelines during Bayern Munich's 6-1 cup win over Magdeburg on Wednesday. Kane received a guard of honor from his teammates before the match, marking the occasion of becoming the first Englishman to win the individual accolade in 25 years and the first Bundesliga player to do so since Matthias Sammer in 1996.

Kane trained on Tuesday and was available to play if needed, though Bayern's coaching staff had hoped to give him the night off ahead of fixtures against Borussia Dortmund this weekend and Atletico Madrid in the Champions League next Tuesday. The striker said he is "still processing" the win and felt "embarrassed" by the individual spotlight, noting it is "not my normal thing to enjoy." He emphasized his focus remains on collective success rather than personal accolades, having left Tottenham for Bayern in 2023 to pursue greater team opportunities.

"The support I've had from friends, family, fans, text messages, social media has just been overwhelming almost," Kane said of the reception since winning the award in London on Monday.
