Carlos Tevez has chosen Wayne Rooney as his ideal striking partner over Sergio Aguero, despite playing alongside both Manchester icons during his career. Speaking on Rio Ferdinand's YouTube channel, Tevez explained that while the two were "very different" players, Rooney was his preferred partner.

Tevez spent two seasons at Manchester United alongside Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo, winning consecutive Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Carabao Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. He later joined Manchester City in 2009, where he played with Aguero for two seasons after the Argentine's arrival in 2011.

Tevez credited the ease of playing with Rooney to their shared passion for football and aggressive approach. He recalled that Sir Alex Ferguson gave the attacking trio minimal tactical instructions, instead letting them play instinctively. Ferdinand revealed that Rooney had recently told him Tevez was his favourite attacking partner—a compliment Tevez returned.
