Nottingham Forest will surely regret missed transfer, 'sky is the limit' for Liverpool gem

Analysis piece reflecting on Nottingham Forest's failed £30m bid for Liverpool midfielder Trey Nyoni, who has since impressed for the Reds.

Nottingham Forest missed an opportunity to sign Liverpool midfielder Trey Nyoni in the summer after their £30million bid was rejected. The 19-year-old centre-midfielder has since impressed under Andoni Iraola, delivering a standout performance against Chelsea on 28 October with 82 minutes of play featuring the most touches of any player, two tackles, four interceptions and four recoveries. Rio Ngumoha praised Nyoni's potential, saying "the sky is the limit" for the young midfielder who has another level to reach. Forest, currently 18th in the Premier League after nine games, may now regret not returning with a higher offer, particularly as younger players like Jair Cunha, James McAtee and Liam Delap have impressed this season.
