Ivorian winger Diomandé, 19, completed his €140m move to Real Madrid after just one season as a pro, the most ever paid for an African-born player.

Yan Diomandé signed a seven-year contract with Real Madrid in early August after a summer of speculation about his future. The transfer fee reached €140 million including €15 million in variables, making it a record for an African-born player. RB Leipzig, who had purchased the Ivorian winger just a year earlier from Leganés for €20 million, saw his value increase sevenfold in twelve months. Remarkably, Diomandé completed the move after playing just one full professional season.
