Everton drop Jack Grealish from Carabao Cup tie over 'breach of club discipline'

Grealish dropped for tonight's Carabao Cup tie after missing training without permission on Monday.

Jack Grealish has been dropped from Everton's squad for the Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Newcastle due to a breach of club discipline. The 31-year-old is understood to have missed training on Monday without permission. Everton manager David Moyes's side announced the omission publicly on social media, an unusual step that underscores the seriousness of the breach. Grealish returned to training at Finch Farm after his absence but is expected to be fined for the unauthorised absence. The England international had started in four successive games for Everton before missing Saturday's defeat at Arsenal due to illness.
