AC Milan and Internazionale reveal successor to San Siro and name it Generali Stadium

AC Milan and Inter reveal the Generali Stadium will replace San Siro, with construction set to begin in 2028 and completion targeted for Euro 2032.

AC Milan and Internazionale have unveiled plans for a new stadium to replace the iconic San Siro. The venue will be called the Generali Stadium, with the insurance company paying €650 million for a 20-year naming rights deal.

Designed by Foster + Partners and Manica, the new stadium will feature an oval design with 80 diamond-shaped exterior elements and an elegant roof. It will have a bowl-shaped tribune structure with 71,500 seats across two tiers, compared to San Siro's three rings. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2028, with the first matches expected in the 2031/32 season. The stadium must be ready for Euro 2032, which Italy will co-host with Turkey. Once the new ground is operational, the historic San Siro will be demolished.
