Juventus without hunger and soul: now tough measures and deep reflection on the future

Juventus lacked intensity and desire in defeat at Genoa, with Spalletti and the board disappointed by the team's passive performance and lack of character on the pitch.

Juventus suffered a heavy defeat at Genoa, with the team criticized for showing little hunger, fight or willingness to compete. The article highlights that while injuries to eight players (Locatelli, Thuram, Yildiz, Grabara, Celik, Ekhator, Nico Gonzalez, Conceiçao) have limited rotation options after playing every three days, Spalletti and the board were most disappointed by the mentality and personality displayed on the field.

The Bianconeri were outfought from the start, conceding two goals within 30 minutes. Notably, Juventus committed just one foul in the first 45 minutes at Marassi, underlining their lack of engagement in individual duels—something Spalletti has emphasized as crucial in Serie A's current tactical direction. Even captain Bremer, who made controversial post-match comments, appeared out of form and made errors.

Spalletti is now conducting deep reflection on several players and will seek to restore solidity and compactness. The decline has been evident since May when Champions League qualification was lost: in 13 league games since, Juventus has won just five, drawn four and lost four.
