Flick firm: "We will continue with our idea of play until the end"

Flick defended his tactical approach after back-to-back defeats to PSG and Real Madrid, insisting the team will stick with their playing style despite criticism.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick held a press conference ahead of the Barça-Alavés match to address mounting criticism following consecutive losses to PSG and Real Madrid that overshadowed an earlier run of eleven straight wins.

Flick spoke firmly about his confidence in the team and his tactical philosophy. "I am completely convinced about our idea of play. We will go like this until the end," he said. "It is the most important thing, to be convinced with our idea." He acknowledged speaking with club president and sporting director Deco, describing the conversation as positive.

The manager explained that Barcelona must improve their ball control and reduce careless turnovers, particularly after losing possession easily against Madrid. He also noted the team is dealing with multiple defensive absences, including Jules Koundé, Xavi Simons, Dani Olmo, Eric García and Christensen. Flick confirmed that Frenkie de Jong is now available and can play in multiple positions, including centre-back if needed. The focus for the Alavés match is clear: securing three points and returning to winning ways.
