'We're not in Disneyland!' Mikel Arteta warns Max Dowman after 16-year-old's red card against Fleetwood and admits: 'when we don't win, I am p***** off'

Arteta rebuked 16-year-old Dowman after his red card against Fleetwood, warning the prospect that professional football demands discipline.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta issued a stern warning to academy prospect Max Dowman following the teenager's dismissal in Tuesday's Carabao Cup tie against Fleetwood. Dowman was sent off for reacting to a heavy challenge, marking his second red card in a month after also receiving one while playing for England's Under-19s. Arteta used the incident to emphasise the standards required at professional level, telling the 16-year-old: "We're not in Disneyland." The manager also expressed his frustration at Arsenal U19's performance, stating that he is "p***** off" when the team fails to win.
