Ansotegi wants Real Sociedad B to stop looking like a reserve side

Real Sociedad B manager Ansotegi says the team must stop playing like a reserve side and regain their competitive edge ahead of Saturday's match against Girona.

Real Sociedad B manager Jon Ansotegi addressed the team's recent poor run of results ahead of this Saturday's fixture against Girona, insisting the problems are fixable and that the squad has the quality to turn things around.

While acknowledging the current streak is not good, Ansotegi argued that the performances don't reflect the results. "If you watch the matches, you don't have that sensation," he said. "We have to try to improve our performance, maintain what we do well and improve what we don't. That will lead us to achieve good results again."

The manager was particularly critical of the team appearing to play like a reserve side rather than a competitive unit. "What we want is to win but above all, we want to compete," Ansotegi explained. "We want rival coaches to say again that Real Sociedad B is a tough, difficult team to beat, not a happy team that leaves spaces and gives easy chances." He emphasized the need to return to professional standards and demonstrate they can compete with any other team, despite their B-team status.
