Michael Carrick responds to Gary Neville rant accusing some Man United players of behaving unprofessionally

Carrick dismissed Neville's criticism, saying he has not encountered unprofessional behaviour since returning to the club.

Gary Neville launched a scathing attack on Manchester United players following their 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford, accusing "a few" of lacking professionalism away from the pitch. On a Sky Sports podcast, Neville questioned their lifestyle choices, suggesting some don't go to bed at the right time, don't eat properly, and don't think about the club constantly enough.

When asked about Neville's comments at his Thursday press conference, manager Michael Carrick flatly denied encountering any unprofessional behaviour since his appointment in January. "No, I haven't, no," he said. Asked if he was surprised by Neville's accusations, Carrick responded with a dismissive "Gaz says a lot of things."

Carrick's predecessors Ruben Amorim and Erik ten Hag both dealt with disciplinary issues during their tenures, but no players have been publicly reprimanded under Carrick's watch. United have won just two of their last 12 Premier League matches this season.
