Jason Cundy enraged as talkSPORT absence after Tottenham hammering finally explained

Cundy returned to talkSPORT after a four-day break to Tenerife, which coincided with Chelsea's 2-0 home loss to Tottenham.

Jason Cundy made his return to talkSPORT on Friday after a week-long absence, finally explaining his whereabouts to listeners and colleagues. The Chelsea fan had taken a four-day trip to Tenerife with his family, timing that coincided with Chelsea's 2-0 defeat at home to Tottenham on Saturday.

Cundy claimed the break was planned before the fixture and that he had arranged it as a favour to co-host Jamie O'Hara, a Tottenham supporter, to give him "a breather" ahead of what Cundy expected to be a Chelsea victory. However, the plan backfired when Spurs won, leaving Cundy to face ribbing from talkSPORT colleagues including Paul Hawksbee and Andy Jacobs, who branded him a coward for his absence.

Speaking on Drive on Friday, Cundy joked about the situation and playfully attacked O'Hara for "twisting" the narrative around his trip. The pair will reunite on Saturday for GameDay Phone-In at 5.30pm.
