Pellegrini: "The scoreline does not reflect the difference between the two teams"

Pellegrini felt Betis deserved a bigger margin of victory after beating Málaga 2-1 to consolidate fourth place in La Liga with 23 points.

former Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini expressed satisfaction with his side's 2-1 victory over Málaga, which keeps them fourth in La Liga with 23 points. Pellegrini believed Betis merited a more comfortable win, saying the scoreline did not reflect the gap between the teams. "We played a very good match, although the 2-1, a goal with some fortune, tightened things a bit," he told DAZN. "Málaga had few chances and we showed great intensity in ball recovery. I think the scoreline does not reflect the difference that existed between the two teams."

When asked about Betis's title prospects, Pellegrini urged caution, preferring to focus on taking matches one at a time. He noted the team has accumulated important points and is well-positioned in the Champions League, but stressed the need to look forward without dwelling on past results. He also praised Málaga's football but acknowledged potential squad and financial constraints may affect their ability to climb the table.
