Terzic sounded out as Real Sociedad manager

Terzic declined Real Sociedad's approach last October before eventually joining Athletic Bilbao this year.

Edin Terzic was linked with Real Sociedad in October 2024 after reports from Sky Sports Germany claimed he had rejected several clubs including Everton, Monaco and the Basque side. Real Sociedad subsequently went through managerial changes, with Imanol Alguacil departing at the end of 2024, followed by brief tenures from Sergio Francisco and Pellegrino Matarazzo.

Terzic, who had been without a club since leaving Borussia Dortmund in June 2024, eventually accepted a position with Athletic Bilbao. When questioned about the Real Sociedad opportunity at Lezama, he declined to discuss it publicly, saying: "You can ask me why Athletic is such a special place for me, but all the other options are something I don't like to talk about in public. It's a matter of respect towards everyone, towards the clubs and the coaches."
