Danny Murphy is right, Chelsea triple-stat leader must have a place in Xabi Alonso's team

Danny Murphy backs Estevao for more minutes after the winger led Manchester United clash in three attacking stats: most chances created (3), most touches in box (12), most shots (6).

Estevao made a strong case for increased playing time in Chelsea's 2-0 win over Manchester United, leading the match in three key attacking statistics. The 19-year-old Brazilian winger created three chances (joint-most), had 12 touches in the opposition box (most) and took six shots (most), though a marginal offside ruled out a goal. BBC Match of the Day pundit Danny Murphy believes manager Xabi Alonso must find a way to use Estevao more regularly.

Alonso has rotated between four-at-the-back and three-back formations at Chelsea, but the three-back system—which worked well at Bayer Leverkusen—may limit Estevao's effectiveness. The winger thrives on one-versus-one situations rather than playing as an inside number 10, and his defensive capabilities make him unsuitable as a wingback. Adapting to a wide number 10 role between the centre-back and fullback would require adjustment, but at 19 Estevao has time to develop into a more well-rounded attacker.
