Gattuso's great revenge

Lazio leads Serie A after 11 rounds despite fan boycotts and financial turmoil, marking the club's best season start in history under Gattuso.

Lazio's unexpected rise to the top of Serie A in early November has shocked Italian football. The club was widely expected to struggle this season, with supporters boycotting matches for months due to discontent with the club's direction and financial instability. Yet under Gennaro Gattuso's passionate leadership, Lazio has achieved its best season start in club history. This contrasts sharply with last season, when Lazio finished ninth after hovering around 11th place at this stage. While Inter's position near the top and Roma's title credentials were anticipated, and Como's competitiveness under Cesc Fàbregas no longer surprises, Lazio's emergence as genuine contenders represents a remarkable turnaround amid the club's administrative and financial chaos.
