Manchester United star explains Roma comeback mentality - 'Nothing to lose'

Dalot credits United's 3-2 Champions League comeback against Roma to having nothing to lose and the energy created by the Old Trafford crowd.

Manchester United completed a remarkable 3-2 comeback against Roma in the Champions League at Old Trafford on Tuesday, with Matheus Cunha scoring twice in the final 10 minutes to turn the game around after the visitors had taken a 2-0 lead.

Diogo Dalot explained the mentality behind the comeback, saying United had "nothing to lose" given their difficult situation. He highlighted how the team's aggressive approach in the opening minutes, combined with the crowd's support, created an energy that made it difficult for Roma to respond. "When you have the right attitude, when the fans really believe that we are there, we can be a very strong team," Dalot told journalists.

The Portuguese defender also reflected on the half-time message, emphasizing the need to avoid getting disappointed too quickly and to maintain intensity throughout the match. He praised the impact of substitutes, including Shea Lacey, who came on with 15 minutes remaining and helped shift the momentum. The victory provides manager Michael Carrick some relief amid mounting pressure at the club.
