Man United star Diogo Dalot sends four-word message after Cristiano Ronaldo announcement

Dalot posted an emotional tribute to Ronaldo after the Portugal icon announced his retirement from international football.

Cristiano Ronaldo announced his retirement from international football on Thursday after a 23-year Portugal career. The 41-year-old left the national team camp in September as an unused substitute following a public fallout with manager Jorge Jesus. Ronaldo retires as Portugal's all-time leading goalscorer with 146 international goals and 234 appearances, and helped the country win Euro 2016 and the Nations League titles in 2019 and 2025.

Man United defender Diogo Dalot, Ronaldo's former teammate, posted an emotional tribute on Instagram praising Ronaldo for helping Portugal "believe, dream and conquer." Dalot, 27, has made over 250 appearances for United but has struggled for form recently and is approaching the final 18 months of his contract.
