Lens-Como, Fabregas: "Everything went well, we're happy but now humble and working"

Como thrashed Lens 9-1 in Champions League, but manager Fabregas urged humility and focus on Sunday's match ahead of tough fixtures against PSG and Barcelona.

Como produced a historic 9-1 victory away at Lens in the Champions League, but manager Cesc Fabregas kept perspective after the emphatic win. "It's a happy evening, everything went our way today, the lads were brilliant, but we must think about Sunday's match and finish this cycle of nine games as well as possible," Fabregas said. "We must stay humble, keep working hard, and learn from nights like this."

Fabregas acknowledged the lopsided scoreline while noting Como conceded one goal. "I was annoyed about the goal we gave away because we'd changed something tactically. Aguilar scored a nice goal—he was my teammate at Monaco." The manager emphasized the importance of recovering injured players ahead of a demanding run, with PSG and Barcelona coming in the final two group matches. "When I saw the last two were PSG and Barcelona, I knew we had to take points early. They're at a superior level, but there are still many games before those fixtures," he explained. "The most important thing now is getting our injured players back. Tomorrow we start thinking about next week."
