Martin O'Neill blasts cowardly Celtic fans hiding behind balaclavas after doorstepping Greenock Q&A

O'Neill attended a Celtic supporters meeting in Greenock and criticized masked protesters outside, saying fans with grievances should show their faces.

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill joined chief executive Michael Nicholson at a supporters club meeting in Greenock on Monday, where fans questioned the board over the club's direction. Around 25 balaclava-clad protesters gathered outside the venue ahead of the gathering.

O'Neill praised the board for facing the fans but expressed disappointment at those who chose to hide their identities. "I think if you've got a dispute or something, I think you should be brave enough to show your face to doing it," he said. "To me, I think that was the saddest thing. Would I have ever, in any day, ever thought that Celtic fans would be clothed in balaclavas before a meeting?"

The manager acknowledged the meeting itself was robust with strong questioning from supporters, and he hopes the answers provided will help address concerns. With Celtic struggling on the pitch—just three wins from their last 10 games—O'Neill is focused on finding solutions ahead of tonight's match against Besiktas.
