Inside Celtic Supporters Club Q&A as January transfer intel leaked

Celtic confirmed they will have a budget to spend in January as they look to strengthen the squad under interim boss Martin O'Neill.

Martin O'Neill, interim chairman Brian Wilson, CEO Michael Nicholson and CFO Chris McKay met with 120 fans from six Celtic supporters' clubs in Greenock on Monday for a two-hour Q&A session. O'Neill took an active role in proceedings, often answering questions directed at the board and discussing the club's five-year objectives: winning the league five times, qualifying for the Champions League, winning a game in the League Phase, and progressing out of it.

When asked about replacing O'Neill, the board confirmed he is on a one-year contract with an option. Crucially, they revealed Celtic will have money to spend in the January transfer window as they seek to address recent poor form. CEO Michael Nicholson expressed a desire for January to arrive quickly, acknowledging the need for squad strengthening after the summer signings of two centre forwards. The club outlined a four-man panel approach to player identification, with O'Neill making the final decision on targets.
