No time to waste: Roma dominates and squanders, Gasperini demands more

Roma dominated but squandered chances against Manchester United; Gasperini warns the team must maintain intensity for full 90 minutes after repeated second-half collapses.

Roma's inconsistency in the second half has become a recurring problem under Gasperini. The team started brightly at Old Trafford but conceded twice in the final stages, extending a troubling pattern: they've leaked nine goals after the 75th minute across recent matches against Torino, Atalanta, Fenerbahçe, Inter, Real Madrid, Cagliari and Udinese.

Gasperini acknowledged the team's strong first-half display but refused to accept the defensive lapses that followed. He reminded his players that matches last 90 minutes and that complacency in the second half must end. The statistics tell the story: Roma had 20 more shots than United but generated only 16.7 expected goals to their opponent's 12.4, yet still conceded late goals.

With Manchester City next on the fixture list before a trip to Manchester United, Gasperini has made clear that Roma's psychological approach to maintaining intensity throughout matches must change immediately.
