Roma manager sends warning to Man United as Michel Carrick sack decision emerges

Gasperini warns United ahead of Champions League clash, praising Roma's goalscoring form across multiple players.

former Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini has issued a warning to Manchester United ahead of their Champions League league phase fixture on Tuesday night at Old Trafford, expressing confidence in his team's attacking prowess. Gasperini highlighted Roma's impressive scoring record this season, noting they have netted 28 goals across their opening 10 Serie A matches without tasting defeat in the Italian top flight.

"Sometimes the numbers do tell you the story," Gasperini told reporters. "Besides scoring lots of goals, we're also scoring with many different players. That shows how much confidence there is in the team: lots of players believe they can make a decisive contribution, be it with an assist or a goal."

United arrive in poor form, having lost to Como and Atletico Madrid in their last two Champions League matches. Manager Michael Carrick has not won in any competition since September's victory over Sabah, a run extending to nine games after the weekend's Premier League defeat to Chelsea. United sit 17th in the Premier League, outside the relegation zone only on goal difference, with speculation mounting over Carrick's future. The club reportedly hopes to reach the international break before deciding whether to make a managerial change.
