Avram Glazer makes rare Man United comment in public after making sale plans

Glazer told financiers at a London conference that United's commercial power won't suffer despite the club's poor league form and fan protests.

Manchester United co-owner Avram Glazer has made a rare public statement about the club, telling an audience of financiers at Deutsche Bank's Sports Investment Conference in London that poor on-pitch performances won't impact United's commercial power.

Glazer reportedly gave assurances over United's brand strength, comparing the club to the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys—major global brands that remain commercially powerful despite recent sporting struggles. The comments come as United sit 19th in the Premier League, though they did record a 3-2 Champions League comeback win against AS Roma on Tuesday after a run of one win in ten attempts.

Fans have continued protesting against the Glazer family throughout the season, with chants against the owners, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and club executives heard during recent matches. The statement appears designed to reassure investors about the club's financial resilience regardless of results.
