Effort on to sign Crystal Palace man – Agent has confirmed efforts

Inter Milan are actively pursuing Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards, with his agent confirming Serie A interest; Richards' contract expires in 2027, allowing a free transfer from January.

Inter Milan are working to sign Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards, with manager Christian Chivu keen on the centre-back. The Italian champions want a proven defender ready to contribute immediately, and Richards fits their criteria: he is tall, strong in man-marking and intercepting, and available on reasonable terms.

Richards' contract with Crystal Palace runs until 2027, meaning he can negotiate a pre-contract agreement from January 1st. Inter could secure him on a free transfer from that point or negotiate a low-cost deal to bring him six months earlier. His agent Alan Redmond confirmed in October that Serie A clubs had already shown interest, and suggested something could move in January or summer 2027.
