Miranda is back: he's the engine of Bologna

Left-back Miranda has rediscovered his form under Palladino, becoming Bologna's attacking engine on the left flank with crucial assists.

Juan Miranda has returned to the form that defined his previous season at Bologna, now thriving under manager Raffaele Palladino's system. After a slow start to the campaign under Domenico Tedesco, during which he lost his place to Rahim Alhassane, Miranda has reclaimed his position and is delivering consistently. His impact was evident in recent matches, including a crucial assist for Mbangula's goal in Bologna's 3-2 comeback against Milan, and another key contribution leading to Tommaso Pobega's goal.

Miranda's effectiveness stems partly from his deployment as a left-sided midfielder rather than a traditional left-back in a four-man defence, a role that better suits his attacking-oriented technical qualities. The Spanish left-back, who arrived at Bologna on a free transfer, has developed strong understanding with forward Nicolò Cambiaghi, with the pair frequently interchanging positions to create attacking opportunities. Their combination has proven particularly dangerous, with Miranda's ability to deliver dangerous crosses from the flank creating constant problems for opposing defences.
