Mikel Arteta reveals reaction to Noni Madueke's England snub as Arsenal get boost

Arteta backed Madueke to bounce back from England snub, praising his professionalism and recent form deputising for injured Saka.

Noni Madueke was overlooked by England manager Thomas Tuchel for the upcoming Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain, marking his second consecutive omission from the Three Lions squad.

Despite the disappointment, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed full support for the 24-year-old winger, who has been in excellent form recently. Madueke has recorded four goal involvements in his last eight matches and scored in Arsenal's Champions League victory over Slavia Prague in midweek, stepping up effectively during Bukayo Saka's absence with a quad injury.

Arteta highlighted Madueke's professional response to his previous England snub in September, revealing that the winger had sought out additional training to improve. "What he did was go abroad and he trained," Arteta said. "He got somebody to train and he wanted a programme. He wanted to do that. That's Noni and that's his mindset. He wants to get better." The, former Arsenal boss expressed confidence that Madueke will continue to develop and cement his place in the team.
