Zidane recalls Mbappé but faces numerous absences for Nations League

Zidane recalls Mbappé after knee injury and names 23-player squad for Nations League matches against Italy and Turkey, with several notable absences.

France manager Zinedine Zidane has named his squad for upcoming Nations League fixtures against Italy on November 12 in Milan and Turkey on November 15 in Bordeaux. Kylian Mbappé returns after missing the last call-up due to a knee injury sustained in France's opening match.

Zidane confirmed Mbappé is fit and available, though he declined to specify whether the Real Madrid forward will play in his preferred central position or on the wing. "He's a player who can play in several positions, I might put him in his favourite one, up front, there's no problem with that," Zidane said.

The squad includes fellow Real Madrid players Eduardo Camavinga, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Ibrahima Konaté. However, several regulars are absent, including Ousmane Dembélé, Jules Koundé, William Saliba and Maxence Lacroix. Zidane said the absences give him a chance to "see new faces", with Paris FC forward Pablo Pagis among the less familiar names included. The manager also expressed frustration with France's attacking output despite dominating possession in recent matches, saying the team must improve in the final third.
