Martin O'Neill admits Camilo Duran is Celtic's main man as boss makes surprising Kasper Hogh admission

O'Neill backs Kasper Hogh despite 15-game goal drought, but admits Camilo Duran is Celtic's main striker after scoring twice in Thursday's 3-2 Europa League win over Besiktas.

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has backed striker Kasper Hogh to end his 15-game goal drought, despite the £11m signing drawing another blank in Thursday's 3-2 Europa League victory over Besiktas. O'Neill praised Hogh's unselfish play and hold-up work, saying the performance against European opposition will give him confidence.

However, O'Neill admitted that Camilo Duran is currently the main man in attack after the substitute scored twice to secure the result and keep Celtic's Europa League hopes alive. Duran has now scored 13 goals this campaign and is expected to return to the starting lineup for Sunday's match against Kilmarnock. O'Neill noted that Duran can play across the front line but is most dynamic as a centre-forward.

O'Neill was also pleased with Celtic's defensive display, describing it as "really, really strong" despite conceding a penalty. Defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is being assessed ahead of the Kilmarnock fixture after struggling late on Thursday, though he performed well overall after a difficult outing at Falkirk the previous week.
