Simeone's brief response when asked about Álvarez and Barcelona

Simeone confirmed Álvarez is in good form ahead of Sunday's clash with Barcelona, where the striker will start after a summer transfer saga.

Diego Simeone addressed Julián Álvarez's status ahead of Atlético Madrid's Sunday fixture against Barcelona at the Metropolitano. The forward will start in attack after a turbulent summer in which a move to Barcelona fell through and he remained at Atlético. Simeone gave a brief response when asked about Álvarez, simply stating he is "very well" and has scored twice in his last four matches.

Simeone also provided updates on other squad members. Johnny Cardoso is expected to be available after three games out, having made good progress in training. Regarding Jonathan David and Kang-in Lee, Simeone said both are playing the minutes that allow them to contribute effectively to the team.
