Fermín values equalling Maradona's goals and explains his connection with Lamine

López has equalled Maradona's 38-goal tally for Barcelona and discusses his on-pitch chemistry with teammate Lamine Yamal ahead of his 100th La Liga appearance.

Fermín López has reached a significant milestone in his Barcelona career, equalling Diego Armando Maradona's goal tally of 38 for the club. At just 23 years old, López has already made 150 appearances for Barcelona's first team and will reach 100 La Liga matches this Sunday against Atlético Madrid.

In an exclusive interview with Mundo Deportivo, López reflected on the achievement, saying the comparison to Maradona is "only numbers" but that he is "very happy" to match such an iconic player's record. He also credited his vertical style of play and forward-thinking mentality, developed since childhood, as key to his goal-scoring ability. López has also recorded 36 assists and prefers scoring to creating chances, though he acknowledged the satisfaction of setting up teammates.

López also spoke about his partnership with Lamine Yamal, praising the winger as "the best" and explaining their chemistry stems from knowing each other since childhood. He emphasized that their off-pitch friendship translates into perfect understanding on the field, making their combination play particularly effective.
