Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knew Man United would sack him before Michael Carrick gesture

Solskjaer recalled realizing his Manchester United tenure was over at half-time during the 4-1 Watford defeat in November 2021.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reflected on the moment he knew his time as Manchester United manager was finished. The former striker, who spent nearly three years in charge, recalled that he became aware his reign had ended at half-time during United's 4-1 loss to Watford in November 2021, when the team trailed 2-0. Unlike Michael Carrick, who is expected to continue despite a recent 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como, Solskjaer did not receive another opportunity to turn things around.
