Bordalás: "We have touched rock bottom in some way"

Bordalás blamed defensive lapses after Getafe's 4-0 loss to Athletic, saying the team has hit rock bottom and must urgently rebuild.

José Bordalás lamented Getafe's 4-0 defeat at Athletic Club in San Mamés, describing it as a "clear and resounding" loss that the team "cannot afford". The manager highlighted defensive frailties, noting that three goals came from set pieces and one from a transition, and stressed the need for immediate change.

Bordalás acknowledged his teams have always been defensively reliable but admitted Getafe is no longer meeting that standard after conceding nine goals in two matches. He said the squad has "touched rock bottom" and must now turn the situation around. When asked about recent departures of Mauro Arambarri and Luis Milla, he recognised they were "very, very important" players but refused to use their absence as an excuse, insisting the focus must be on the players currently available.
