Ronaldo returns to Portugal pre-call for Nations League under Jesus

Ronaldo included in Portugal's pre-call for Nations League matches against Denmark (14 Nov) and Wales (17 Nov), signalling reconciliation after September tensions with coach Jesus.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been included in Portugal manager Jorge Jesus's pre-call list for upcoming Nations League fixtures, according to Portuguese media. Portugal will face Denmark at home on 14 November and Wales away on 17 November as they look to consolidate top spot in Group D.

The move represents an attempt at reconciliation following friction during September's international break. Ronaldo was benched for the first time since 2008 in the match against Norway after starting against Wales, leading to visible frustration. He subsequently missed training sessions and eventually left the Portuguese camp in Copenhagen, citing broken promises from Jesus. The Portuguese Football Federation opened disciplinary proceedings against Ronaldo, imposing a 30-day suspension backdated to 1 October, which will have expired by the Denmark match.

Official squad announcements are expected on 6 November. The inclusion in the pre-call suggests Jesus and the federation are moving to restore the relationship with their star player.
