Monza-Napoli, Landucci: "Once they criticized our narrow wins, now they criticize too many goals conceded". VIDEO

Napoli beat Monza 4-1 away; Landucci says the team must win matches to silence critics, noting defensive lapses remain a concern despite recent improvement.

Napoli secured a 4-1 away victory over Monza in Serie A, with Allegri's deputy Marco Landucci addressing the result in a post-match interview on Sky Sport. Landucci reflected on the criticism the team faces, noting the irony that Napoli were previously criticized for narrow wins while other teams' high-scoring victories were praised as entertaining football, whereas now they are criticized for conceding too many goals.

Landucci emphasized that winning matches is the only way to silence critics. He highlighted the team's recent form, citing victories over Bodø/Glimt and a strong performance against Roma, alongside the Monza win. He credited the return of key midfielders Scott McTominay and Franck Anguissa as crucial to the team's improvement, noting that McTominay had been sidelined for a month and Anguissa had also faced fitness issues. Landucci stressed that midfield control is essential in modern football with a congested fixture list.

Regarding injuries, Lobotka was forced off in the first half with an ankle problem and will undergo assessment. Landucci expressed confidence in the squad's strength and spirit, stating that with their current mentality they will perform well in the coming period.
