Álvarez: "We must try to extend this run"

former Girona manager Quique Álvarez wants to extend the team's winning run against Real Sociedad B, with striker Vanat in form after a hat-trick.

Girona are enjoying their best form of the season after two consecutive league wins and a Copa del Rey victory over Cuarte. Manager Quique Álvarez is focused on maintaining momentum in the visit of Real Sociedad B, emphasizing the need to secure a third straight win without looking beyond the next match.

Álvarez acknowledged Real Sociedad B's difficult position in the table, noting their results don't reflect their actual performances. He praised the form of his attacking players, particularly Vanat, who scored a hat-trick against Celta Fortuna, while Abel Ruiz and Pyshchur also found the net in the cup tie. The manager expects to welcome back Jastin to the squad after several weeks out, with Bryan and Boñar remaining unavailable. Mate Morey has impressed in Boñar's absence, and Álvarez highlighted his mentality and team-first approach. The coach also identified the gap between first and second-half performances as an area to improve, linking it to the squad's physical condition following a difficult pre-season.
