Michael Carrick press conference LIVE Bruno Fernandes decision and injury blow confirmed

Carrick confirmed Sesko out until January and Mainoo available for Chelsea; no decision pending on Fernandes' captaincy.

Michael Carrick held his pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester United's trip to Chelsea on Saturday. The manager insisted he was not surprised to retain his job following the 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth, stating his focus was on preparing the squad for Stamford Bridge rather than his own future. Carrick confirmed that Benjamin Sesko will be sidelined for an extended period, unavailable until January, but Kobbie Mainoo has recovered and is available for selection. On the captaincy question, Carrick stated there is no decision to be made regarding Bruno Fernandes, addressing speculation that had arisen after he previously dodged the question about potentially stripping Fernandes of the armband.
