'Fully committed' Fernandes to remain Man Utd captain

Carrick confirms Fernandes remains captain after clear-the-air talks following his benching for the Bournemouth defeat.

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has confirmed Bruno Fernandes will continue as captain after the pair held talks at Carrington on Tuesday. Fernandes was dropped to the bench for Sunday's 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth after questioning tactics following the 4-1 Champions League defeat by Como. Carrick said there is "no decision to be made" over the captaincy, describing Fernandes as "fully committed" to the club and an important player for the group. It remains unclear whether Fernandes will return to the starting line-up for Saturday's trip to Chelsea, where Carrick will remain in charge despite his position appearing precarious after the Bournemouth result.
