Bruno Fernandes breaks social media silence as Manchester United decision made

Fernandes broke his social media silence after reconciling with manager Carrick following their public row over tactics; expected to start against Chelsea on Saturday.

Bruno Fernandes has ended his silence on social media after resolving his dispute with Manchester United manager Michael Carrick. The Portuguese captain was benched for Sunday's 3-0 loss to Bournemouth following public criticism of Carrick's tactical system earlier in the week, after being substituted during a 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como.

Carrick and Fernandes held talks this week to clear the air. Speaking to the media, Carrick said: "He's an important player for this group. He has been and he will be. Between us, we've got to make a difference and we've got to push things in a good direction. He's fully committed to this football club, he's fully committed to making things better."

On Friday afternoon, Fernandes posted a pre-match image to Instagram, signalling his readiness for Saturday's 12.30pm kick-off against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, where he is expected to start.
