"We'll see what happens" – Manager responds as Leeds eye January transfer swoop

Leeds continue monitoring Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi ahead of January, when he can negotiate a pre-contract deal as his contract expires next summer.

Leeds United remain long-term admirers of Porto defender Zaidu Sanusi and have him back on their radar ahead of the January transfer window. The 29-year-old left-back will be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with European clubs from January as his contract with Porto expires next summer.

Reports in Portugal have indicated Leeds are at the front of the queue for Sanusi's signature, with a scout spotted at Porto's game against PSV earlier this month. Porto manager Francesco Farioli has publicly stated his desire to keep the defender, saying in a press conference: "I trust him and give him opportunities, and he repays that trust with good performances. We're still a long way from January, and when the time comes, we'll see what happens. He's a player I like having with us." Porto are reportedly looking to tie Sanusi down to a new contract to ward off interest from other clubs.
