De Burgos inaugurates post-match referee interviews

De Burgos Bengoetxea became the first referee to conduct a post-match interview with broadcasters, discussing VAR decisions from Levante-Atlético.

La Liga referees have traditionally given pre-match interviews to television rights holders, but a new initiative launched this matchday extends that to post-match analysis. De Burgos Bengoetxea was among the first to participate, speaking to Movistar+ after officiating Levante-Atlético.

De Burgos reviewed the key moments from the match, which had few controversial incidents. He explained two offside decisions that were confirmed by VAR, including one where the system initially allowed play to continue before the video review corrected the call. He also addressed a yellow card issued to Castro for protesting one of the offside rulings, noting that the player exceeded acceptable levels of dissent.
