Gasperini: "After 4-0 we lost focus, it happens". Updates on Dybala, Kone and Svilar recoveries

Roma thrashed Udinese 5-2 to move third; Gasperini says fatigue and concentration lapses cost them in the second half after a dominant first 45 minutes.

Roma defeated Udinese 5-2 at the Bluenergy Stadium in Serie A's tenth round, climbing to third place with 24 points. Manager Gian Piero Gasperini praised his side's attacking prowess, noting the variety of goalscorers reflected the squad's confidence. However, he acknowledged defensive lapses in the second half, particularly after Roma led 4-0 at half-time. Gasperini attributed the conceded goals to concentration issues rather than physical fatigue, pointing to the demanding schedule: Roma have played eight matches in less than 20 days, with another fixture at Manchester coming in three days. He highlighted the squad rotation and availability of players across age groups as key strengths, mentioning Ghilardi's motivation after a disallowed Champions League goal. Gasperini expressed hope of recovering Dybala, Kone, Svilar and Pellegrini before the international break, though he acknowledged recovery was unlikely, describing the coming week as decisive.
