Garcia: "We had to respond after a difficult week"

Garcia praised the response after two defeats, though a late lapse cost Barcelona a clean sheet in the 6-1 win.

Joan Garcia reflected on Barcelona's 6-1 victory, acknowledging a late concentration error that denied him a clean sheet when Mariano scored. Despite the blemish, the goalkeeper celebrated the emphatic win as a crucial response after two consecutive defeats to PSG and Real Madrid.

"We had to respond after the difficult week we had with two losses," Garcia said. "We did our job, we were concentrated and played well. We stay top of the league. We must keep our heads cool to continue being leaders."

Garcia praised the unconventional defensive pairing of Frenkie de Jong and Brian Fariñas, who stepped in despite it not being their usual positions. "They showed great character and demonstrated how good they are as players," he said. "The good ones can perform well regardless of position."

Looking ahead, Garcia acknowledged Barcelona's attacking style carries defensive risk but believes it is worth taking. He is now focused on the upcoming Champions League home match against Aston Villa and the visit to Atlético Madrid.
