Junior Kroupi's chances of January move revealed as Tottenham plot swoop

Tottenham remain interested in Bournemouth striker Kroupi, but sources say a January move is unlikely; the club is demanding over £80m and a summer exit is more probable.

Junior Kroupi is unlikely to leave Bournemouth in the January transfer window despite Tottenham's continued interest, according to sources close to the club. The 20-year-old French striker broke the Premier League record for most goals by a teenager last season with 13 in 33 appearances, helping Bournemouth secure Europa League qualification.

Tottenham emerged as suitors in the summer, but Kroupi's fractured metatarsal in July ended any prospect of a move. Bournemouth were demanding over £80 million then and are expected to hold firm at a similar valuation in January. The striker has only recently returned to action after his injury and made his first appearance of the season against Manchester United.

Transfer correspondent Pete Craven suggested next summer is a more realistic window for Kroupi's departure, with multiple elite clubs likely to reignite their interest if he regains full fitness and form. For now, Kroupi is focused on maintaining his fitness and helping Bournemouth maintain their top-half position.
